If you've never visited the competitions section on DS, do click here and pay it a visit.

There's always something up for grabs - from DVDs to CDs and books, and occasionally some good stuff too. Best of all, entry is free.

One of our recent competitions was to win a Most Haunted-themed night at Bodmin Jail. Jane Cairns was our lucky and extremely brave - some may say insane - winner, who now shares her experience with us:

"We were taken from the warmth and comfort of the bar down into the jail, there were 20 of us all together and we went to a room that was called base camp.  We were introduced to the mediums and historians, then the historians walked us around the jail giving a historical tour of the jail and some of the gruesome details of the things that had gone on there.

"After this it was back to base camp and coffee, we were then let loose on our own for half an hour to explore on our own.  After this we went back to base camp and the lights went out!  To say it was dark is an understatement, and if you were like me and hadn't been told to take a torch then it was a case of follow the one with the biggest torch.

"The medium took us into a room where he tried to teach us how to see spirits and interact with them.  After this we were split into 3 groups and sent to different parts of the jail to see if we saw or felt anything. There were also other experiments going on throughout the night too.

"I wish I had been warned on actually how cold it was going to be, with the stone floors and mud the cold crept up from my feet and by the end of the night I was too cold. This night was an experience I would like to repeat in other locations that hold this sort of event, although we did get the odd most haunted wannabe within the group "what's that?" "did you hear that?" "Squeal!" etc. but that aside it was a good night and I would like to thank the hosts of the night at Bodmin Jail and also Pete who arranged everything for me and without him this great night would not have been possible, thanks all!"

You're welcome, Jane.
