Voting in the DS Awards 2001 took place through December 2001, with several hundred forum members logging on to participate. The results have now been tallied, and can be viewed in full below.

Among the highlights, a strong year for Channel 4, with Big Brother 2 being named Best Programme of the year, and new spinoff channel E4 taking Best New Channel. Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Outta My Head" convincingly won Best Single, and Sky One beat off close competition from BBC One to win the Best Channel category.

Many other entries were submitted in this category; most noticably, ITV1 managed to score just under 1%, having only attracted a handful of votes. MTV2 was the strongest-performing music channel, with 3% of reader votes.
