This week was very definitely a Matt Smith week as we bumped into him at the press screening of Christopher and His Kind AND at Doctor Who Live. Chris Allen is hoping that at least one of these constitutes a 'date'. There was a handshake at the end of one of the meetings though which I suggested he should have turned into one of those hand-kisses with a gentlemanly bow. I'm not sure Chris warmed to this suggestion though as he responded, 'Yes, and then I could throw some Renaissance shapes on the dance floor'. He was being ridiculous though, dances from that period were pretty much all for groups or pairs so you couldn't even do them alone. So there.
Here's Morgan pulling the same face he pulls when he's recapping Merlin:

Elsewhere - and (more importantly) involving me, we had an invite to the recording of Kermode and Mayo's Film Review at the Phoenix. At one point Mark Kermode was asked where he used to sit in the theatre when he was a kid (apparently he had a usual seat) and he appeared to be pointing directly at me. I panicked in case he might have been preparing to fight me for it but it turned out he was actually gesticulating at the space behind me where a seat had been removed - CRISIS AVERTED.

Aaron Sorkin was also there - briefly (pictured left) - answering questions about The Social Network and explaining why Studio 60 was cancelled (the format didn't forgive writing errors, apparently). On his way out his jacket hit my sleeve. That's essentially arm-to-arm contact so you can consider anything he writes from now on to be a collaborative effort.
