Simon Cowell said that the 19-year-old's rendition of Dusty Springfield's 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me' lacked the edginess and youthful energy she brought to her previous performances.

Abdul told the hopeful, who hails from Savannah, Georgia, that she should have "more fun" onstage.

There are now ten remaining hopefuls competing for this year's American Idol crown, which will be decided in May.
