US 'Life On Mars' moved to New York

The US Life On Mars remake has been moved from Los Angeles to New York amid uncertainty around the production.

The involvement of Ally McBeal producer David E Kelley, who owned the rights to a US version, has been reduced even further than previously announced, according to the LA Times.

Both filming locations and the setting of the series, which is due to air on ABC in the autumn, have been moved with the aim of giving it a different look.

Producers are also considering dropping some of the cast, it has been rumoured, though Jason O'Mara (In Justice) and Colm Meaney's (Star Trek) roles as Sam Tyler and Gene Hunt are thought to be safe.
