Jeremy Clarkson and Jay-Z have both sparked controversy this year. The list of the outspoken Top Gear host's misdemeanors includes threatening a 12-year-old and being photographed behind the wheel talking on his mobile phone. Comparatively, Jay-Z's "crimes" are minor and no fault of his own. The hip-hop impresario has been the talking point of this summer’s Glastonbury festival, with many criticising the decision to allow a non-indie act to headline the event. It's doubtful that Clarkson has ever cruised to '99 Problems', but DS has found a way to link Jezza to Jay-Z through Six Degrees Of Separation.

Jeremy Clarkson to... James Blunt - There's sure to be a cavalcade of celebrities lining up to take a spin around the Top Gear test track as the new series revs up this weekend. A surprisingly entertaining recent guest was James Blunt, who recounted the story of putting his sister up for sale on eBay as a "damsel in distress" when she couldn't get to a funeral in Ireland. The winning bidder married her 6 months later!

James Blunt to... Carrie Fisher - If you find James's brand of indie pop a bit bland then don't blame him, blame Carrie Fisher. Remarkably, James stayed at Princess Leia's Los Angeles home while he was working on his debut album Back To Bedlam in 2003. The actress even suggested the record's title and allowed James to record 'Goodbye My Lover' in her bathroom.

Carrie Fisher to... Shia LaBeouf - One of Fisher's recent film appearances was a fleeting cameo in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, playing a nun no less. Long before Steven Spielberg took a shine to Shia LaBeouf and put him in Transformers and Indiana Jones, the ex-TV star featured in the Angels sequel as motorcycle speed junkie Max.

Shia LaBeouf to... Rihanna - After rumours emerged linking Shia to pop sensation Rihanna, the actor admitted that he came in for some gentle ribbing from his close friends about the alleged romance. "My friends were like, 'Are you serious, bro? Why didn't you tell me about that?'" Shia said. "For weeks they were singing that 'Umbrella' song everywhere I walked. And those are my people!"

Rihanna to... Jay-Z - As far as musical mentors go, there's probably few better than Jay-Z. The much-maligned Glastonbury headliner's most recent success story is Rihanna. Jay-Z has even gone as far as vetting potential boyfriends for the R&B star. "Guys will talk to Jay first before they try to approach me. He's very protective," Rihanna noted. "If it's a good guy, I know Jay won't shut him down."
