i aint gonna lie....i dont care about pretty stunning toffs walking around half naked....it was so good when it first started and now its just "lets stick some hot people on a island and see what happens"...and what does happen?....F all.....how about adding "normal people" into the mix and see what happens.

Basically it's just another reality show that has run its course like Big Brother and Survivor before it. It seemed fun and edgy at first but familiarity breeds contempt. Are these people really that interesting? Let's get real. It's a group of kids running around on a couple of islands playing Lord of The Flies. The 90 min format is probably to do with advertising. I agree with the shorter run (again, can you keep it interesting for over 20 weeks?) and the third island innovation as they really needed to try somehing different to try to keep it topical.

The show follows the same format every week. I don't watch it anymore, it was like starring in Ground Hog Day!

Vicky's comments are spot on. I 100% agree with her and it never occurred to me until she said it. I still watch it every weekend!

I don't know what you lot are on about, good storylines, a nice balance given to each team, you can identify with the guys and the girls on the Island, it's great post hangover TV, which is what you need on a Sunday morning. It's not designed to compared to the last series but it's there to entertain and it does - very well. The Third Island shows an interesting dynamic and it's bound to make a more interesting finale, don't have a go at it before it's finished....I think the best is yet to come.

I still love it, but I know what you mean about it being different. Like the third Island, mainly cos it has most of the hotties (Char, Lottie, Diva..), but I think the exciting part of the show was seeing if they were going to pick Sharks or Tigers, and that was what it built up to the whole episode. Whereas now, there isnt as much of an emphasis on that, but rather, which Islander will get to stay. For example, some episodes you hear what they decide before they announce it to the teams. I think this is where the spark has been lost, and the element of competition doesn't seem to be so fierce!!

i am loving this series though i didnt really watch the previous ones i caught a few bits and i actually am enjoying this series alot more

It has definetly got worse. The two new arivals every week has become dull and boring, especially with all the crying and drama. Should revert back to the former format next year. Much more tension that way. We all know who's going to win now, and thats just boring.

I think this series is the best yet, interesting people, interesting format and some extremely good twists!

I don't know why so many people hate it this year. I think it's better than it has been, as it has a good twist. Before it was just winning new arrivals, but now, the third island makes it way more interesting. i can't WAIT for sunday, when the Hawks come as the last new arrivals. it's gonna be WAY good! they obv. can't do a third island for 2009, but it would be good for another twist to be made... x

I have to say that i am loving it this year, though its not as good as last year the third island twist is good and intriguing but has gone a bit stale and now its coming to the end its getting exciting again!

Still a loyal viewer, and especially love the Third Island show, but the main show has been lacking something this year, though I do like the twist to the format. I think the problem is that not only has the "week" been shortened to 5 days, but we rarely see what the other island is up to when they aren't entertaining new arrivals, which means we don't see how the latest chosen arrival is settling in as they become a full tribe member.

I really hate the third island. Shipwrecked is meant to be about the Tigers and the Sharks, and is generally meant to be carefree, but the third island has undermined that and made the main programme look childish. Also, two new arrivals a week is rubbish. Two of the best things about the show used to be a) that people didn't tend to leave (in any sense) and b) you got to really know the new person in their show. This new run has managed to kill both of those things, along with the carefree element, so well done producers, you killed everything I liked about the show.

The biggest disappointment for me this year is the time-slot. I always found time to watch it last year at 6ish, but quite often miss it this year at lunch time and it's difficult to really get into it if you've missed episodes here and there. I still think they do a very good job with the show though and I agree with others that it is miles better than Big Brother.
Rachel, London on July 3rd, 2008
I wouldnt say it has got worse, the people are probably more relaxed than previous series but i wouldnt say that was a bad thing, and you cant just make up romances, at least danny and lara arent doing it for a joke or a one off as many islanders did last year. i think the third island twist is great.
Tilly, London on July 3rd, 2008
I did like the concept of the third Island... but yeah over the past few weeks it's got a bit slow. I do also agree that the show itself has suffered from a shorter run. Also there's been no real stand out islanders this year unlike Ben Lundt and Crawford and Katie from previous series, though Danny is trying his best. Also they show haven't made much of the romance between him and Lara where as before it's been the highlight (for some) of the series seeing who's into who.
Ben, London on July 3rd, 2008
The people just aren't interesting. They're all Big Brother wannabes. They need to work harder to cast it properly, and maybe incorporate some elements from the third island into the main show (while dropping Hutcam Diaries and the Third Island show). This would make life harder and more basic on the two islands, which would surely create more tension and drama than the boring, repetitive stream of jack-the-lads and airheads being wooed by the carbon copies of themselves already there.

Last year was the first year I ever really watched Shipwrecked and this has been the first year I've really got into it, so personally I've really enjoyed it. 90 minutes is a bit of a long time but it gives a good excuse for a nice long Sunday lunch in front of the TV!! I'm looking forward to the final Hawk twist next week (or the week after?) It will definitely have ths series finish on a high!
Danny, Manchester on July 3rd, 2008
Well I'm still enjoying it as much as any other series. And it's still a million times better than Big Brother.
Matt, London on July 3rd, 2008
Wow, I must be on a different wavelength, I'm absolutely loving it this year. I think it's been good every year since it came back. I love the Third Island thing, although clearly they can't do it again next year because the joy of it is in the secrecy.
