The Verve members still at odds

Richard Ashcroft has admitted that friction still exists between members of his reformed indie group The Verve.

The band will release new album Forth next month, ten years after their last LP Urban Hymns.

However, Ashcroft confirmed to 6 Music that they do not always see eye to eye.

"Obviously there's baggage and things that you've got to sift through," he said. "It's not some Mills & Boon scene running down the beach as the sun sets. But it is the case that these four people make a unique sound together."

Guitarist Nick McCabe concurred, stating that a reunion was worth the effort because of the music the band is capable of producing.

"We've had a lot of time to think about things, but hopefully we're older and wiser, and it just seemed to me that I put a huge chunk of my life into this and there is no way that I would turn my back on it if there was ever a chance of it working again," he explained.
