Girls Aloud quash new member claims

Girls Aloud have dismissed claims that they are to choose a new member via an X Factor-style reality TV show.

The Sunday Mirror had suggested that the group was to hold auditions for a girl to join them for a live show with the possibility of becoming a permanent addition to the lineup.

However, the band rubbished the stories in a statement on their website, saying: "These reports could not be more wrong.

"Papers often get things wrong but this one should win some sort of award!'
