Slow start for 'Back To Reality'

Five's new £4.7 million reality show Back to Reality got off to a slow start last night, early ratings figures indicate.

An average of 1.8 million viewers - a 6.7% share of the available audience - watched the twelve contestants enter their studio-based mansion from 8pm.

The programme was marginally up on Five's average share for the slot this year (6.2%) but was down on last week's documentary The Woman with the 14-stone Tumour, which had 2.4 million and a 9.0% share.

As with many reality series that have preceded it, the Back To Reality audience is expected to rise steadily over the coming weeks.

Tonight the show faces its toughest competition in the 8pm slot, going up against both Coronation Street and EastEnders.
