Winona Ryder has been taken to hospital after falling ill on a flight to London.

The 37-year-old was rushed to Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge directly from a plane at Heathrow Airport. Her condition, which is not currently known, required a "priority landing" from the captain.

"The captain of BA282, which was travelling from LA to Heathrow, requested a priority landing as a female passenger required medical attention," said a British Airways spokesman.

"The passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The plane touched down shortly before noon UK time."

Ryder's publicist said: "As a precautionary measure they took her to a hospital. She was there for an hour. She's in good health. There's no drama."

Passenger service staff accompanied the actress to hospital.
