Set-top-box manufacturer Pace and middleware developer OpenTV have signed a new licensing agreement enabling Pace to add OpenTV Core v1.1 to the range of middleware it is able to incorporate into its products.

James Ackerman, OpenTV's CEO, said: "We’re delighted to extend our successful relationship with Pace. The new licensing agreement will enable OpenTV and Pace to create new opportunities in the digital TV market as new operators come to market and existing networks extend their interactive digital offerings."

"We have been an OpenTV licensee since 1995 and have worked together over the last eight years on some of the world’s most exciting digital TV launches," explained Neil Gaydon, worldwide sales and marketing director at Pace. "Pace is committed to delivering the best digital television experience for its customers. This can only be achieved by established close working relationships with the best partners in set-top box technology, of which we are proud to include OpenTV."
