Queer Eye UK has started airing on American cable channel Bravo, the same station that carried the original US version of the show.

A press release from Bravo's parent company, NBC, explained:

"The British version, already a hit in its own right, features Tristan Eves the Grooming Guru, Dane Bailey the Design Doctor, Julian Bennett the Fashion Savant, Jason Gardiner the Culture Vulture and Peyton the Food and Wine Connoisseur. Though the UK edition plays out largely the same as its American counterpart, it holds twists, surprises and some interesting lessons in vocabulary, (for instance, why you should be nervous if the British say something about your "pants"). The local lingo will be spelled out for U.S. audiences with on-screen pop-ups to ensure that no joke, innuendo or hip-tip gets lost in translation.

"The July 13 episode of Queer Eye features straight guy, Barra, who - despite popular American belief - does not dress better, speak better or groom better just because he has a fancy accent. Barra is a 'links man,' or a voice-over announcer, who yearns to get on camera but doesn't have the networking skills or the look to get out from behind the microphone. After setting him up with a screen test for the UK version of Access Hollywood the UK Fab 5 are left with this mission: Help Barra find the stylish look and suave skills that will take him from bodiless voice to camera-ready announcer setting him on the path to the job of his dreams."

The show airs in the States on Tuesday nights.
