Humax launch updated PVR-8000T

Humax, one of the biggest set-top box manufacturers has announced that it is launching an updated model of its successful PVR-8000T combined Freeview receiver and Personal Video Recorder.
The new model, the PVR-8000T-80, will incorporate an 80GB disc which will provide enough storage for 40 hours of programming. As well as increased storage the unit has had additional functionality added and provides a one-touch record system making use of the new 7-day electronic programmming guide.
The predecessor model - PVR-8000T - was released last year and like the updated model allows the viewer to record Freeview channels and pause live television. The updated model will also provide:
A fast and easily navigable EPG which fully supports the extended programme information provided by the BBC allowing customers to plan and record their preferred viewing over the next 7 days with a simple to use, one-touch recording feature. The EPG feature also remains accessible during recordingA variable time recording facility which allows the selection of different lengths of recording by pressing an instant record button multiple times to set 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hour recording lengths respectively. Recording length is also extendable while recording is in progressOverlap recording which allows viewers to set the same time for the end of one recording and the start of anotherA digital audio recording application to record music, concerts or news broadcasts

This new model is expected to resell at £180.
