The only fault I can find is the buttons seem to be a little crap. I say this because the main on/off button has broken off inside the box. I know I should proabably of had a guarantee but I haven't. It is over 13 months old. Don't know how it happened, I take great pride in my electronic goods and am never heavy handed. Can I find a Ferguson web site? No I can't...if YOU know it...please do let me know. Thanks

Since changing over to summer time from GMT, the programme reminder function is -1hr and nobody seems to know how to remedy this problem. - Ferguson: FDT2000

Newbury, the Ferguson FDT2000 is made by Thomson for the DSG Group (Currys/Dixons). Thomson's website is http://www.thomson.net/EN/Home/MiniSites/BAP/Terrestrial/United+Kingdom.htm and DSG's is www.mastercare.co.uk Only thing I dislike about the box is the remote control - the most frequently used buttons (+ and -) are far smaller than on other remotes.

I had one the grundig version of this box (GDT2000), and seeing as it isn't listed, i'll write about it here instead. The picture was ok, with only a few cutouts. However, the picture would cube if too much movement was on screen. The sound was very good. My only complaint would be the slow interactive services and the lack of a full 7day epg. Still, it's definately worth buying if you have a small tv.

I also have the Grundig and it regularly updates and is now on version 3.4 with an 8 day EPG - good value

I've got 3 of these (1 a Grundig GDT2000 - same box). I can't speak to high of these little boxes. Never had a problem always stable. The software downloads have all been reliable and have upgraded the boxes to 8 day EPG. Comes with a true RF Modulator so you can pipe round the house. Will accept a less than perfect aerial with no blocking. Have tried Goodmans and Panasonic boxes with some trouble and they're not a patch on these. Got 2 at home and one at my Caravan in Essex where the signal on some MUxes is very low and it still reliably works. Not bad to look at, buttons a bit small on remote and there's no digital audio output - but that's nitpicking!

I have the Grundig GDT 2000. Nice small sized box, reasonably nice to look at. I personally don't think much of the sound and it would definitely benefit from digital out. Picture is acceptable. Does lock up about once a month but otherwise no problems.

The on-off button has broken on mine after 2 years. The scroll buttons on the remote are getting less responsive over time. On the whole, it has been a good buy.

My box worked quite well for a while but I have suddenly lost some of the channels 1-17. it happened when using the menu and adding favourites. Don't know what I've done but I can't get them back. Unfortunately I haven't got a hand book and I can't find where to search for one on the web. Now the box is quite useless in spite of previously working well in an area where one is not supposed to be able to get digital TV! Any ideas anyone!

I have 5 (yes 5!) of these boxes. They are very good. I bought my 1st one about 4 years ago and I haven't had any problems. I do recommend that you use a good aerial source for the best picture. You can use a normal RF cable (for TV's without a SCART connector) or for the best picture use the SCART. There is also a second SCART connector for output to a VCR or HD Recorder. Setup includes support for 4:3 and 16:9 TV's. The software is probably the best I've seen. While using the guide, you see the current channel in live preview in the right hand corner (complete with sound). You can preview another channel whilst browsing. If I had to nitpick I would like to be able to switch to a different channel (when in preview mode) using the number buttons and a page up/down facility would be nice. But really these are very small points. To answer Mikes problem - "I have suddenly lost some of the channels". Simply press Menu, Setup, AutoTune and "replace existing". This should be done every now and then to get the latest channels.

Has anyone else found that the box locked up or died after a download? Mine has done nothing but display the red LED after a download a few nights ago.

1 common fault with this batch of digital freeview recievers from grundig seem to be that the on/off switch breaks. Exactly the same thing happened with mine. But other than that, it IS a great bit of kit, especially with the digital switchover nearing. If the switch does happen to break, you can buy a 'one for all' controller from most high street shops such as argos fairly cheaply.

The new teletext tv guide is horrible and no-one likes it. Now we have reset to the old guide but have to leave it switched on all the time to stop it reverting to the horrible one. Otherwise good value box
