Animal rights campaigners have accused the makers of Five's new reality TV show, The Farm, of being "grossly irresponsible" for putting farmyard animals at risk.

The show sees celebrities, including Paul Daniels, Debbie McGee, Stan Collymore and Rebecca Loos, being abandoned on a farm for three weeks, where they will be forced to grow their own food and tend farmyard animals.

However, campaign group Viva!, led by Soldier Soldier's Jerome Flynn, think that the show should be cancelled for putting animals at risk.

Flynn explained, "The farm chosen is far from typical as most animals are reared in intensive factory units".

The show begins on Five tonight.
