Veteran actor Sean Connery, who played secret agent James Bond in seven films, beginning with Dr No in 1962, has said that fellow Scot would make a perfect replacement of the previous Bond, Pierce Brosnan.

However, Connery has wise words regarding the role, describing it as a "poisoned chalice." With such a great role comes a great responsiblity, as Sean explains: "He should do it if he wants to do it. But it's a bit of a poison chalice. It is slightly more difficult than people realise because it has to look very comfortable and very easy and very cool."

Pierce Brosnan, however, has recently championed his kinsman Colin Farrell to take over the role, despite the fact that Farrell is not interested.

Still mooted to be in the running for the role are Hugh Jackman and Orlando Bloom.
