Jennifer Lopez is going to spend Christmas Day staging a free concert and handing out gifts in her native Bronx.

The singer-cum-actress was originally going to spend the day engaging in extravagant celebrations with recently-acquired husband Marc Anthony, but has now decided it would be more worthwhile to help out charities and homeless shelters.

It has not been a good year for J-Lo in financial terms, with both Jersey Girl and Gigli faring poorly at the box office.
