English, French, German and Spanish language options are now available for EuroNews viewers on Telewest Broadband. The different languages may be selected using a red button interactive application.
"Platforms are increasingly interested in offering a quality multilingual channel to their subscribers and we are delighted to have been able to co-operate with Telewest Broadband on this project," said Philippe Cayla, president and CEO of the news channel. "With EuroNews they are able to reach expatriate customers interested in watching a channel in their native tongue, as well as subscribers keen on improving their foreign languages. The new interactive application informs the viewers of this enhanced function and facilitates the language selection through a smooth navigation process: it adds value to the channel's overall offer which is a priority for us."
The channel broadcasts in three other languages - Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. A press release on Monday indicated that these other languages would become available "over the coming months."
"We’re committed to providing our customers with the choice and flexibility to mould their individual viewing and the new Euronews interactive service is ideally placed to deliver an improved experience," said Telewest's president and COO, Eric Tveter.
