
Five Grammy-nominated acts are to open this year's awards ceremony in one spectacular performance.
Gwen Stefani, Franz Ferdinand, Los Lonely Boys, The Black Eyed Peas and Maroon 5 will start the event with a single performance across three stages.
The telecast will feature a live rendition of The Beatles' Across The Universe, which will then be available for purchase from the iTunes Music Store, with the proceeds donated to tsunami efforts.
