Globe-trotting reality series The Amazing Race has been confirmed for yet another two seasons.

The news comes hot on the heels of a confirmation of season seven, which is now set to premiere in three weeks' time.

Season eight, planned for a Fall debut, will feature a major twist to keep the show fresh. Instead of teams of two, the pairings will be expanded to teams of four in a special 'all-family edition.' Examples of teams could be traditional families (mom, dad and two kids), blended families (newly married with step siblings), four sisters, four brothers, multi-generational (grandparents and grandchildren) or engaged couples with in-laws-to-be.

"Everyone can relate to family travel… the camaraderie, the emotion and even the conflict," said Bertram van Munster, Amazing Race executive producer. "We’re looking for families who want to turn this familiar concept into an adventure that will take them to some amazing places while discovering a lot about their family dynamic and human spirit."

Season nine, planned for early 2006, will return to the show's regular format.

Applications are now invited through CBS.com; children must be at least 12 years old to apply.
