Legendary rock group Status Quo will make a cameo appearance at an upcoming wedding in Coronation Street.

The band have been signed up to appear in a multi-episode arc for the marriage of Les Battersby and Cilla Brown later this year.

Actor Bruce Jones, who plays loudmouth Les, is said to be a big fan of the Quo, just like his on-screen character.

A spokeswoman for the soap told BBC News Online that they were "absolutely delighted" that the group had agreed to appear, adding a confirmation that they would feature in "more than one" episode.
