Four bidders are in the running for NTL's cable system in Ireland, according to The Irish Times.

The paper reports that UGC Europe - parent company of another Irish cable provider, Chorus, has made the final shortlist along with Setanta, Veronis Suhler Stevenson, and John Riordan.

It is expected that the sale of NTL's Irish operations could be worth up to €300m.
