Previously reliable sources have indicated to DS that Britain's biggest cable operator, NTL, is planning to change prices on some of its services on June 1.
The unofficial information indicates that the monthly price of NTL's base package will go up by £2, with all other packages going up by £1. The £1 increase will be applied to the phone line rental that is part of all TV packages.
However, some price changes are in the downward direction. Talk Unlimited Local will go down by £2 per month, and regular Talk Unlimited will drop by £3. Also planned are cheaper rates for calls to mobile phones. Connection charges for calls made to premium numbers are expected to go up to 10p per call.
For Internet services, broadband prices will remain steady. Dial-up access will however go up by £1 per month.
Please note that this is unofficial information at this stage; as soon as we receive confirmation, we will update DS.
