A new channel aimed at gay men will launch in the UK this September.

Faze TV, which has a £5 million programme budget, will have a lineup including fitness, sport, music, fashion, community news and features, series drama and feature films.

The station is the brainchild of David Bouchier, outgoing programming head at Sky Italia. "Gay channels have launched successfully in the US and France in the past 12 months," he told Broadcast magazine. "The proposition is perfect for extending the appeal of multichannel television to an important niche audience."

Faze will launch on Sky in September, initially available as a premium monthly offering.
