Timberlake joins 'Shrek 3'

Justin Timberlake has signed up to voice a young King Arthur in Shrek 3.

Producer Aron Warner told USA Today: "Our desire was to get somebody who is visible and had their own persona to bring to the table. Justin fit the bill perfectly."

The singer's character, apathetic towards the prospect of taking the throne, will call upon Shrek (Mike Myers) to teach him to act like royalty should.

Timberlake is also set to star alongside Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey in the upcoming Edison and with Sharon Stone and Bruce Willis in Alpha Dog.
