This is a great film. It is by far the best in the prequels, but Episode V will always be the best.

I have to say that I'm quite suprised at some of the scathing reviews of this movie. The dialogue has been labelled as cheesy & poor. Isnt the cheesy dialogue what makes part of the Star Wars saga so magical & appealing? I mean, I dont think a sci-fi movie like this is setting out to win any actor awards is it? I agree with some people saying that the acting is wooden (in Hayden Christensen's case, that is correct). Apparently, Leonardo Di Caprio was touted as a possibility for the role of Anakin Skywalker (he was even quoted as saying he was desperate for the role, being such a Star Wars fan himself). He would have been a better choice because he can actually act. In terms of the film, it was grade A entertainment! Spectacular special effects, great fight scenes (Yoda's being the best & funniest), the whole tradegy of Anakin falling to the dark side was handled very well, the over the top but brilliant performance from Ian McDiarmid as Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine. This movie ranks as the best of the prequels & comes a close second to Empire Strikes Back. The scene where the Darth Vader suit is constructed was chilling & spine tingling (although I have to admit that the "nooooooooo" was rather cheesy lol)! My minor gripes are : 1. General Grievous could have been built up a bit more. Obi-Wan Kenobi seemed to defeat him rather easily, despite the fact the part driod/part alien was a ruthless Jedi killer. 2. The clone/storm troopers have new zealand accents in the prequels, but american accents in the original trilogy. 3. They could have showed more of Darth Vader's rise to power within the new Empire with more dialogue from him. Other than that, this was definately value for money. The TV series that George Lucas is planning to make should effectively tie the two trilogies together even tighter (it should explain how Chewbacca & Han Solo get together at the very least). Lastly, George Lucas should make episode's 7, 8 & 9 if he has any sense. There is a totally new story just waiting to be told. A new story that will make him a ton of money, all over again!

iI loved the film so much I went and saw it again the next day. I was surprised by the love story - I enjoyed it in Attack of the Clones but it had became much more. I have fall for Anakin.

At the start I thought it wasn't that good but then I started to get into it. I really enjoyed the end.

Fantastic film and second best ever behind Empire Strikes Back. Loved Yoda against Sidious throwing the platforms back and forth. In a way I prefered it to the 'BIG' Obi/Anakain duel.

A significant improvement on the previous two instalments with great special effects and a fairly good storyline which resulted in the transformation of young Anakin Skywalker into the evil Darth Vader. Connects all the loose ends together well and overall a great way to end the legacy

It is indeed a very good movie. In fact, I went for the film without any expectations and that really proved to be a boon. It is action from the very first scene. Here, Ian McDiarmid has given a brilliant performance as the evil Chancellor Palpatine, and Ewan McGregor is very good as Obi Wan. However, SITH is far better than ATTACK OF THE CLONES and THE PHANTOM MENACE. But of course, it is nothing compared to the beast STAR WARS movie ever - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. But it is better than "THE RETURN OF THE JEDI". But of course, it explain very clearly how ANAKIN SKYWALKER becomes DARTH VADER.

I thought this film was great. I agree with Snozzwangler- by the end I was trying to stop myself crying. How could you do that Anakin?! I still can't seem to connect Anakin/Darth in SITH to Darth in A NEW HOPE because we see his personal side in this. Bad points: crappy dialogue in areas- remembered a review halfway through that pointed out this and properly tuned in to be astounded at how bad it was. And Padme and Anakin's scenes weren't really up to scratch. On the other hand I thought the final duel was great and even though it's such a clichè I even liked that "NNNOOOOOOO!" from Darth at the end! I thought this film was really good- and now I want to see the first three again!

the first hour was very slow with too much of the special effects with the fighting scenes out in space. after that first hour i started to enjoy it more, soppy in places, funny, and also real depth. it was exciting waiting to see why Anakin did go over to the dark side, but a bit of a let down in places as it seemed rushed to get the ending ready to fit in with NEW HOPE, i wish they had showed more of Anakin going to the dark side and also as Darth Vader. i may go and see it again, when hopefully theres not many crowd and hopefully hear more. overall yes, it fits well in with all the other episodes.

The Revenge Of the Sith was better than the first two as it focuses on teh story side rather than the special effects. The final lightsabre fight between Anakin and Obi Wan was brilliant, really sad though when Anakin bursts into flames at the end. Did anyone else notice that Luke was born first?Wasnt he supposed to be the younger brother from the two twins?

I watched it at the cinema and thought it was too slow. Good realistic space characters .....Darth Vader was realistic and Yoda both impressed me ...didn't understand the story board but all in all a funny adventure....

I was told yoda was going to get his a*s kicked, but was relieved when the battle ended the way it did! also the visual change from hi tec to lo tech was amazing, by the end of the film we even saw a young peter cushing looky likey! I'm going again to see it (though this time without kids in the audience)

I loved the movie, Lucas delivered an awesome movie. I was around when the first 3 movies came out and I think this one has to be almost the best of the 6. I consider myself a devoted, and sometimes obessive fan! It was action packed form the start and it broke my heart many times as I watched Anakin slip into the darkside, but I was excited also. Hayden Christensen was awesome......I saw it twice within 24 hours and that wasn't enough for me...

Hell.... that was a FAST 2hrs and 20mins. Great fun and have to go and watch it again. Ties the whole saga together and quite neatly too. BEWARE SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!! Am I the only one to note the irony of Mace Windu meeting his end via the window. Great to see the Millenium Falcon (all be it very samll and very briefly) landing in the lower right in the first 40 mins somewhere. And that for me sums it up. It's so chocked full of stuff - you've got to see it again - and again - and then again just to be sure you caught it all. The only thing that sits slightly uncomfortably is the E1/2 & 3 technology compared to E4/5 & 6 - but then a spaceship in 77 just hadn't had the collective design that those from 05 have I guess.... Anyway - If you haven't yet - then go and see it!!!! Now - where's that Indiana Jones Trilogy ???

The best movie - sad , but really good. We see that Star Wars is actually more of a love story.

Ivan, Shropshire on May 24th, 2005
good movie overall, undoubtably not as good as the original, because you can say that nothing really stands out in this movie, unlike the original Star Wars, which was way ahead of its time. Without giving much away, the battle scenes whilst, incredibly good with the advances in movie "magic", I felt left empty, especially the last two major lightsaber battles, because if you are a fan of the original (and if you are seeing this movie, there is a good chance you are!), then you already know the outcome! However, that aside, the one thing I believe that makes this somewhat more than average movie, because you just have to contrast it alongside to series of movies, the one thing that makes this movie shine, if Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Obi-Wan. McGregor, finally has been given a script by Lucas which is deserved of such a fine actor, and what a performance he has pulled off of a 'younger' version of Alec Guiness' character in the classics. He is fresh, witty, and it is clear to see that he has made a conserted effort to study how Guiness portrayed his character originally, which I believe is not actually as good as Alec Guiness' performance, but actually better. Overall, good movie, better if it wasn't a Star Wars film, because it just has good to much to live up to, and just cannot live up to the expectation, that after almost three decades of waiting, it was such an anti-climax, because it is more 'end of the beginning' rather than 'beginning of the end', and so the end of the movie is strange. On top of that Hayden Christensen is a poor actor, with a poor script. I only thought that Anakin become 'wooden' after he donned Vader's helmet, but his delivery was tedious, especially with Natalie Portman, with the 'love scenes' seeming like sucking a sour lemon would be more appartising. Overall, good movie, best of the modern trilogy, but not a touch on the classics, and by a long shot, because the original star wars were movie history, where this is just movie magic, with people buying the tickets to relive the magic of the originals.

I enjoyed the movie. I felt more was needed at the end. Would've liked to see Darth Vader rise in power for a little longer considering Episode 4 starts with a full Deathstar. Would've been nice to see Leia become princess at least. But this said I thought the acting was good. I felt Obi Wan and Anakin and Padamae. So based on this I'm going to give it a 4 would've been 5 if there had been more at the end.

I THOUGHT THAT THIS FILM WAS THE BEST STAR WARS EVER, EXCELLENT MOVIE

The first hour of Revenge of the Sith doesn't quite hit the stride that it should, due to un-involving action sequences and terribly wooden acting and dialogue. However, after the first hour this movie DOES pick up. Ian McDiarmid gives a good performance as the evil Chancellor Palpatine, and Ewan McGregor is good as Obi Wan. Hayden Christensen (Anakin) and Natalie Portman (Amidala) are fairly bad in their roles right through the movie though. The blame has to be put on George Lucas for this. In this film he shows he is a terrible actor's director with little artistic flair. His constant need to fill every scene with CGI effects becomes waring. The duel between Yoda and Palpatine at the end of this film is spectacular, but the Anakin/Obi Wan duel is something of a dissapointment, being too short and over-the-top. Nevertheless, SITH is far better than the risible ATTACK OF THE CLONES and the kid-friendly PHANTOM MENACE. All in all, this movie is the best of the prequel trilogy. The only things that let it down are the poor musical score (John Williams dissapoints this time), dull battle scenes and abrupt ending. But there are many points to enjoy in SITH, as you will no doubt find out.
