Third box in 18 months. Work fine then they just cease up.

Daniel Harrington, Sheffield on June 10th, 2005
I find the Pace SKY+ V2 to be a very good PVR! it is very stable and only crashes sometimes.

Bob Nicholson, Warrington on June 15th, 2005
Very good on the whole and pretty well satisfied. Occasional loss of signal mars a recording, usually but not always when 2 simultaneous recordings taking place.

Miles, Malton, N. Yorkshire on June 22nd, 2005
Has been running fine for 2 years, have it located in home office away from little feet. A good tip is not to use the remote when a dual record is due to start or finish. Have done 1 full system reset, and a couple of planner rebuilds, and it rarely crashes. It is the fastest box I have used.

Sarah, Scotland on June 26th, 2005
not a problem at all really had for nearly 2 years now. no major probs at allthink all in all i have only had to switch off at the mains 3 times and never had to do housekeeping or full system reset

Dave Tappy on July 4th, 2005
Good so far - 2 years old but I have set second RF output to 4:3 but it insists on outputing in 16:9 so portables else where in the house display squashed images.

Paul Marks, Sheffield UK on July 6th, 2005
It really will change your TV habits, watch what you want when you want. Just remember, it is a hard disk and does get a lot of use. Make sure you let it cool by putting it into standby every night!

Derek Murray, Inverness on July 8th, 2005
Great Box, changes your way of viewing TV, Live Pause is its killer app. Box does get pretty hot, even in a well ventilated area, and i've had to replace the harddisk already. 9/10

Torn, Nottingham on July 9th, 2005
Had it a year had one or two issues with the hard drive. When reaching 60-70% full live pause and playback of some recorded progammes fail to play. Delete a few older programmes and now they play fine.

Paul, Liverpool on July 9th, 2005
I have this box for over 2yrs now about 5 failed recording and one full system reset in that time thats pretty good going, very easy to use, basically if you dont have it already get 1 its well worth it.

David Rickard, Aylesbury on July 14th, 2005
I've had my box for about a year now, and its been behaving pretty well in that time. The front indicators are nice and bright, and easy to see. The picture quality is fantastic - clean and sharp. Having optical outputs for audio is great for watching things in 5.1, and being able to record and play those things when you want is the icing on the cake. I've done one planner re-build, and had some issues with the modem dialling constantly, but I've just unplugged it now. My remote control has died recently also, but I put that down to wear and tear.

Kev, Scotland on July 20th, 2005
My box is behaving pretty well. I've had it for 2 years and only ever had it pack in on me and jump onto standby the once. A few times I've had No Sat however the picture returned straight away; unsure if it really was the box causing the problem. All in all good good!

James, Lancashire on August 8th, 2005
Absolutely Useless, had 3 or 4 in the past 18 months. Not good enough, and we have no Guarantee! Time for Consumer Rights to come out I think.

Rune London on August 30th, 2005
Worked fine only crashed 4 time the first 12 months, then 13th month, crashed totally. it is useless, and sky wont repair them or offer any guarantees, useless useless, and I paid £199 for it to begine with. I want to leave sky just because of this.

Chris Willmott, SE London on September 10th, 2005
Installed 2 years ago, crashed ocassionally from day 1. Last 6 months has seen problem worsen to present condition which leaves us with a box that turns off after 1 minute and a technical fault on every channel execpt BBC1. Cust servs arranged for engineer to call yesterday to replace box with new one (specified NOT refurbished over the phone) yesterday - no replacement box as his XDA stated that the call was for "Loss of Power" to box. 1 hour on the phone to Sky last night results in another visit booked for tomorrow where I have been assured that a new box will be delivered and installed. We'll see...

Mark Hubble, Middx on September 24th, 2005
First box failed after 12 months 3 days. Pretty good up till then. Second box almost perfect.

Jonathan Ralphs, Rhyl on October 9th, 2005
I had the SKY+ V2 in October 2003 and have used it most days since then. I have had no more than 10 failed recordings and no other problems at all until the live pause and rewind started to play up after the latest software upgrade.

Kev Hants on October 16th, 2005
Had the box for 2 years not 1 problem until sky upgraded the software recently and now no end of problems. Live pause/rewind/failed recordings etc etc, but not the boxes fault, be interesting to see how it performs IF and when Sky fix the bugs.

N Richards, West Wales on October 28th, 2005
Four of these boxes have continually frozen, ie hard drive fault. Sky sent an engineer (contracted out) and changed the last box for a double memory 40 gb v3 box Ok at the moment but I am not very optimistic.

Robert McNally, Loughrea, Galway, Ireland on November 18th, 2005
Hav box a long time now now problems with it, all works fine. Very good PVR

Tom Barnes, Worcestershire on December 4th, 2005
For those who have a failed box I would recommend seeking a free replacement even if it is after 12 months. See this site for reasons why; http://www.dti.gov.uk/ccp/topics1/saleandsupply.htm

Well I'm on my seventh box in 2 and a half years. I've had this one for nearly a year however and, touch wood, it's been good!

Great box, expecially for changing the Hard Disk to a 160gb. No problems after 2 years.

Best Sky+ Box had mine since May 2002 only problem I have had is was when I upgraded the hard drive i had to leave cover off as thebox overheated. Like a twat the scart fell out and I went to plug it back in with the power on. My chain hit the circuit board a blew it up altohugh pace repaired it out of warranty free of charge

I've had this Pace SKY+ V2 box for almost 2 years and upgraded the HD to 250GB over a year ago. Only had 2 failed recordings since then. I love it.

Got mine about 6 months ago after threatening to quit Sky due to two failed Amstrads. This one is way more reliable and has needed maybe 3 resets though I've noticed it gets a lot hotter and the fan is active more often and noisier. I get the odd picture/sound 'jump' but no way has this ever been remotely as bad as the Amstrads. Engineer taught me a 'nuclear' rebuild option on installation and reckons if all else fails that'll work - albeit losing all my recordings in the process. So far, so good...
