I have done a direct comparison test between the Pace 2600C1 and the DS430N. The input stage of the 2600C1 is more sensitive, so gives better reception in fringe areas. Mark Scotford www.satseekers.net

My PACE Sky + box bought on ebay gives a SYSTEM ERROR message that Recording and Playback are unavailable. After endless calls to Sky they say the Hard drive is buggered. I have tried all resets, reloads etc but nothing helps. Any options other than buying a new Box??

Best box on the market for this part of Spain - using 1.35m dish and 0.3db lnb.

Couldn't ask for more from a normal box, excellent. Responsive, quick and good picture quality. Never gave me a single problem.

Great Fast Box - small neat and tidy unit
John B, Dordogne France on March 31st, 2006
Bought Pace box off e-bay (loads about at the moment with people upgrading to Sky+) Wanted it as second box for recording other channels whilst watching other side on my 6 year old Amstrad box. Using good quality twin lnb from the same 80 cm dish I have found that the old Amstrad out performs this new Pace box in every dept except bringing up the user screens. The pace box gives high number of fragmented images. Now use the old Amstrad box for recording so that better pictures can be guaranteed on hard disc of cd writer/recorder. Penny for penny, I now wish I had gone for another Amstrad unit, despite what Pace lovers will tell you

Is slow to activate interactive, other channels disappear if you have more than 3 stored - this only seems to happen if you unplug the box - leave it plugged in at the mains it is OK still very annoying though. Can't understand why SKY dont programme in BBC3 AND 4 and BBC radio channels on installation far better than some of the crap that comes with the package.

Had the Pace box now for over a year and no problems at all (touch wood). Superbly fast EPG scrolling and as yet, no crashes.

Good digibox, works extremely well in this part of Europe. Very fast, logs on instantly with a professionally aligned dish ( 65 cms min. ) My only comment would be that a slimmer profile would update its appearance. I like this digibox.

Don't let people tell you that this box is the best! The older version 2600c1 is a better box and cannot be beaten! And that's a fact!
Marc, Southern Spain on October 15th, 2005
This has got to be the best box for signal quality and strength in southern Spain (as they are the only ones I now install). After testing all of the systems I can really recomend them.
Allan, Bordeaux, SW France on July 5th, 2005
Great for SW France! I've tried several of my friends boxes and the DS-430n is the best!
Michael, Madrid on June 21st, 2005
The DS-430n is the best box for Spain, it is fast, good- looking, almost completely stable and does not overheat like others used to. It does have one software bug, however, using interactive services on BBCi can wipe clean any stored 'Other Channels'. The more channels stored, the more likely they are to be wiped.

A smart little box - looks better than the big clunky Pace boxes of yore. A lot faster in the EPG, changing channels and in interactive. Have found it works very well on channels with a weak signal. No auto reboots so far which can only be a good sign. All in all a little spanker!

Pretty good box, nice and compact but it is clearly built on the cheap. VERY annoying for trying to programme in other channels into the box menu as channels often randomnly disappear for no apparent reason. Box also gives wierd problems when in RGB mode, giving the effect of a badly interlaced picture causing colours such as red or blue to appear to be "splitting" or seperating into very jagged lines. EPG is by far the fastest I've seen and performs just as well as a Panny 40. Software is quite stable but its a bit slow for the interactive or anytime it needs to initialize the modem. Box hardly ever gets warm and runs quite cool - no overheating problems there. Tuner is a little shaky, especially in bad weather or when the signal is low.

Lot more plasticky than my Amstrad box and poorer performing signal - like for like on a Quad LNB. Obviously built down to a price !
