Ricky Gervais wants Tom Cruise to appear in the second series of his new sitcom, Extras.

The Office star managed to convince Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet and Samuel L Jackson to play "twisted versions" of themselves in the first series of the show, which will air on BBC Two later this month.

Speaking about the possibility of a second run for the programme, Gervais explained, "We'll do one if people watch it. I think if we got Tom Cruise we'd do two."
