Broadcast has reported that Carlton Productions has acquired the rights to another incarnation of the "Who wants to..." format; a show where the prize is a date with a Page Three girl.
Carlton is understood to have created the snappily-titled "Who Wants to Date a Page Three Girl?" following the purchase of rights to the format of US show, "Who Wants to Date a Hooters Girl?". The company is believed to be pitching to UK broadcasters, including the ITV network, home of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.
The US version of the show, which aired on NBC, featured contestants competing with each other for a date with a waitress from US bar chain, Hooters. The tagline of the show was "where the guy gets a girl and all the girls get a laugh." It is possible, although unconfirmed at the present time, that Carlton may choose to partner with The Sun for the UK version, the tabloid newspaper being the home of the Page Three Girl.
