
The comedy began strongly last week with an average of 9.13 million but dropped to just 6.12 million (28%) on Friday night, according to early figures.
Despite the loss, Boycie and Marlene still managed a fifth place ranking of the day, behind EastEnders (9.52m / 46.2%), two episodes of Coronation Street (9.46m / 48.1%, 8.46m / 38.8%) and Emmerdale (7.44m / 41.9%).
Elsewhere, Taggart had a respectable 5.52 million (27.1%) for ITV1 between 9pm and 10.30pm while on BBC Two, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky dropped to 1.95 million (9.2%).
A first-run episode of Hollyoaks was the most-watched original show of the day in multichannel homes, drawing 340,000 (2.9%) to E4 at 7pm. A new CSI: Crime Scene Investigation had 327,000 (2.2%) for Living TV in the 9pm hour, with an extra 191,000 (1.6%) tuning in for the timeshifted repeat.
