BT's IPTV set-top-box will include a digital terrestrial TV tuner, combining the broadcast TV lineup of DTT with video-on-demand services delivered via a broadband internet connection.

Andrew Burke, chief executive of BT's entertainment division, told the Enhanced TV Show in London that the telco hopes to launch the product next Summer. BT intends to make money by offering add-on features such as voice-over-IP teleconferencing and personalied scheduling capabilities. The box will run Microsoft's IPTV Edition middleware package.
