Bought from Aldi earlier this year. Neat little box with slimline remote. Now and next EPG, 5 timers, Favourites function, delete channel function, picture in screen menus. Appears to have RF out (never tried it) along with 2 scarts. Never had any trouble with this box despite being in a poor signal area. Only one problem noted so far is the loss of synch between sound and picture which can be resolved by flipping channels. All in all a great buy "5 stars"

I got one of these from Aldi when it first came out. It does NOT have an RF modulator - even though the set up screen suggests it does (confirmed by Aldi). It DOES switch to the right channel for a timer event when the unit is in use - with a warning message to say it's about to change - and also warns you if you try to change channel when it's running a timed event. You can over-ride in either instance. I have been very pleased with its performance, quality of picture and only very occasionally has it locked up - when overdoing channel zappping. If you can still buy it I'd recommend it. (The default parental lock PIN is 0000).

I bought my freeview from aldi (old kent road). The channels and favourites were crystal clear. I had no trouble installing the equipment. It has been working well until recently when my kids lost the remote which has made it worthlee. I wonder if I could get the opportunity to purchase another remote from the manufacturers.

I've found the remote to feel un-responsive, the box does not automatically find or inform of new channels and the EPG and menus looks kinda ugly. Positive points are that it has 2 scarts and it was very cheap.

I am trying to get my Audioline FTA 3000 to upgrade itself to receive the new channels recently out, like filmfour, five live etc, but when I ask it to look for upgrades it says there are none available. This means it is pointless as it can’t find any of the newest Freeview channels. Before I throw it in the bin any suggestions please?

You get what you pay for with this box. I picked mine up in ASDA (must be coming up to 2 years back now) and have found it to be far from perfect. It frequently crashes, the remote is very unresponsive and the build quality of the unit feels pretty poor. If you are looking for a cheap box you probably won't be able to find one that is 100% stable so this one is worth a shot. Mine has now started to randomly delete channels from the EPG but as it has had a good innings for a cheap box I will not hold it against the unit.

The FTA 3000 seems to have a serious sync problem with audio and picture if it's left on 1 channel for any length of time. Very irritating if you've videoed something off of it or are watching something for a period of time. Yes it can be resolved by channel hopping but the problem makes it pretty much a useless piece of equipment in my opinion.

Poor remote - needs repeated pressing. EPG is just now & next. Vision & sound good, with occasional slight sync problem. Timers OK but manual padding needed. Good for the price.
