UKTV G2 expands hours, ups sport

UKTV G2 is to expand its broadcast hours by ten to become an eighteen-hour station from next month.

The youth-focused spinoff of UKTV Gold will begin at the earlier time of 9am daily, using its new daytime hours to air shows such as Airport, Top Gear and A Life Of Grime.

UKTV G2 will also become UKTV's home for all of its sports content, which will be ramped up in 2006 ahead of a possible separate channel launch.

The extra hours begin on Monday, January 16.
