Over the next couple of days, the new software will be downloaded to Pace-manufactured Sky+ PVR1 and PVR2 boxes. After that is completed, the software will gradually roll out to other boxes over the next six weeks.
We published a full first look at the new EPG back in September; it will split the EPG into two pages, move the planner to the green button and shift the A-Z listings to the yellow button. Accessible via the blue button is a customisable "favourites" list of channels.
The long-discussed EPG renumbering is now scheduled for February 28, to co-incide with the full release of the new software. Information on these changes is currently transmitting on Sky channel 999.
Finally on Sky trailers there will be the capability to push one button to remember or record the programme being trailed.
