The BBC has poached Craig Oliver from ITV to become its new editor of The Ten O'Clock News.
Oliver - currently head of network programmes at ITV News - succeeds Kevin Bakhurst, who was recently appointed controller of News 24.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to work on such a respected programme with some journalists I really admire," said Oliver. "However, ITN has been my home for 12 years and I will miss working with the wonderful people here."
