Easy to use and set up. No facility to copy home video's from internal DVD to HDD. Does not easily adapt input to 16:9 widescreen - Mainly records in 4:3 even though output set to 16:9.

After reading all the bad reviews on this recorder after I purchased the product, I awaited the arrival of my (lemon) HDD recorder.
Surprisingly I am actually pleased, it looks neat & works fine, the picture is excellent quality from the recordings, even on higher compression, SP, EP etc, sure it would have benefitted from fit to disk rather than guessing if your recording will fit the DVD and adjusting the compression accordingly, but for just over 50 quid what more could you want, it has every socket and connector imaginable and does the job, if you want one with all the latest gismos, then fork out a lot more, but if you can get one of these for 50 quid like I did then go for it, you could do a lot worse and pay more just for a DVD recorder never mind a HDD recorder for example I like it for the money anyway.
