Bought a Philips 42pf9967d/10 from powerhouse and took it back after less than a week. Very disappointed with the picture quality, green tinges around peoples heads (even Noel Edmunds has funny coloured hair !). Freeview kept locking up, TV turning itself off for no reason. Swapped for Panasonic TH42PV500B. What a difference. Pure Quality in every way. Picture perfect. Sound outstanding. Styling to die for.

After two disappointing quality control issues with Pioneer sets, I went for my original 2nd choice, the Philips 42PF9967. Excellent picture quality, true-to-life colours after a bit of personalisation of colour temp settings etc), more sensible menu layouts and the Ambilight feature which looks at what colours are present on screen and projects those colours on wall behind/around the screen, is stunning. Pioneer had two chances and blew both of them - for that, I thank them, as the Philips blew the Pioneer away as an all round product.
