Not bad, but not as good as say, Samsung 850/950 or Denon 1920. Still, it is probably the cheapest DVD Player on the market with an HDMI port (for upscaling to HD) and if money is a factor then this will do the job nicely. It supports both DD and DTS. It will also play back XVID/DIVX along with the usual MP3, JPEG etc. Amazon is probably the best place to get this Player for around £75.

Very noisy when in operation, I mean from the DVD player itself. However, reasonable picture and sound. HDMI not much difference when setting 560, 720 or 1080.

A DVD player that costs about the same as a decent HDMI lead! Crazy but true. I bought this player last year and have been happy with it apart from two irritating features. 1. It has a stupid blue light that shines out from the DVD tray. This can only be switched off by going through multiple menus and then switches on again after a Power down. 2. HDMI output defaults to 1080. The upscaler on this set is fairly poor. 576 yields far better results. I hope the SD-360E is better. Still for an £80 stop gap, I can't really complain. Roll on HD DVD! At least my £50 HDMI lead will then cost much less than the component it is attached to!
