The CMTNEZ7DAB is a micro system with CD player, MW/FM/DAB, single tape deck and an audio in jack. It has full remote control. The CD player can play MP3 files from CD-Rs and CDR-RWs although it is annoying that it will only play fixed rate MP3 files with a .MP3 extension, it won't play WMA or other MP3 variants. It does recognise folders on the disc so you can organise your albums.. The radio is great .. it's a bit messy at the back as there are three separate antennae, one each for MW, FM and DAB. I'm in a good DAB coverage area and had no problem tuning in. You have the choice of cycling through the frequencies or assigning to presets. There are 20 presets for each band which is good but 20 is not enough for DAB. The radio does RDS on FM and shows additional information on DAB. On weaker signals it sometimes takes a little while to tune in but once it has the signal it very rarely drops out. The tape deck is not autoreverse which is the only thing I'd really like to have seen. There is an on and off timer which is quite useful.. There are Bass & Treble adjustments which go from -3 to +3 .. they don't make a huge difference .. I would have liked a bit more bass.. The speakers are excellent, they are small but the sound from them is very crisp. There is one physical drawback .. it's quite deep and it wouldn't fit on the shelf I planned and it needs ventilation space because there is a fan on the back presumably for the DAB chipset. Overall I'm very happy with it .. There doesn't seem to be many micro systems with DAB and this is a good one .. It's easy to set up, easy to use and sounds great. I paid £149 in December 2005. p.

Most unreliable bit of kit I have ever bought. Has had 3 DAB tuner modules, so far. Been out of action for 9 weeks of the 16 weeks that I have had it.
