Shayne Ward has criticised fellow X Factor winner Steve Brookstein for his claims that show producers didn't do enough to help his career.
Brookstein won the talent show in 2004, but has since disappeared from public life after claiming that he was given inadequate support by his mentor Simon Cowell and the other producers he had worked with.
Shayne now insists that Brookstein should resign with grace and just accept that his career was a flop instead of trying to blame other people, especially not the show that gave him a chance in the first place.
He told The Observer Music Monthly magazine: "I do feel a bit of pressure because of what happened last year with Steve. Which is a shame. I do feel sorry for the guy, but it didn't work out for him.
“I'm not sure why. You'd have to ask him. Obviously there is a lot of feeling out there, like, ‘Is Shayne Ward going to be another talent show flop?’
“If I am then I am. If it happens it happens. But if I do fail to stick around then I know I will not slate the show.”
