Glenn Beck will slide into the "Headline Prime" programming block at 7pm, replacing Showbiz Tonight which will now only air at 11pm. Legal commentator Nancy Grace will remain at 8pm. Beck's show will then rerun at 9pm, followed by a rerun of Grace at 10pm. The shows will get two more reruns at midnight and 1am before news returns to the channel's air at 2am. Prime News Tonight, a generally glitzy look at some news stories of the day, will move to 6pm from its current 9pm slot. The programme, which used to bill itself as "the only national newscast to air at 9pm" will now go up against Lou Dobbs Tonight on CNN, Brit Hume on Fox News, and the local-national news hour aired by many network-affiliated broadcast stations in the eastern and central timezones of America.
The new schedule will come into effect on May 8, with CNN Headline News' rolling news hours cut to just 16 per day.
