Best TV I've ever seen, let alone owned. Even better than the previous Panasonic models.

Best HD plasma TV out. Picture/Sound Perfect. Easy to setup, use...even free-view.. The only downside is doesn't have "Picture in Picture" which is great to do stuff like watch a DVD while monitoring ur CCTV...or while u watch football the kids can play the xbox360. No big deal. With all the connections available..(e.g 2X HDMI, Component and 3 scarts) you would expect to get PiP. Highly Recomended!

WOW! I love it, the kids love it, my son (aged 4) thinks 'Dora the Explorer' is a real girl now and wants to go round her house. Still trying to convince the wife that we 'need' SKY HD, but I think I will wait until nearer the World Cup or possibly the football 06-07 season... Amazing quality and normally with a free DVD recorder now-a-days, look on online for best prices as high-street stores would have cost me an extra 300-500 quid!

This review is for the 37"model of the same TV, TH37PX60. Outstanding picture quality - Excellent black levels and superb detail across the whole range of colours. Superb contrast. No issues with colour banding as on previous plasmas. With freeview on some channels (esp BBC1) the picture is approaching High-Def quality. The great thing about this TV is the pictures look superb even with standard definition which is where a lot of Hi-Def panels fall over. Sound is excellent especially considering its a flat panel. Very well constructed, solid. Connectivity is excellent with two HDMI sockets, Component-in, PC D-Sub, 3 SCARTs (2 RGB, one SVideo), and it even has a CAM-slot for those who want subscription DVB services such as Top-up TV. I was going to buy a Sony Bravia 40" LCD until I saw this - I demoed both next to each other and the Panasonic is way superior. If you thought plasma technology was old-hat, think again.

Fantastic picture, but really shows up the lower quality Sky channels, which annoys me sometimes. Does suffer from a green shadowing on fast moving objects across the screen. Havent seen the so called burn-in shadowing from static images yet. All in all, great plasma, but not the ultimate IMHO.

Excellent connectivity, signal processing (HDTV, analogue and DTT all great) screen (colour, contrast, no undue pixelation, brightness is acceptable)Sound is acceptable (but most of us use external and the feed is good) Control is easy to understand and logical. Overall this TV is as close to CRT as it gets without spending megamoney plus you get HDTV and a much larger screen. What more could you want?

Stunning picture - watching TV has been transformed. Watching DVDs is enhanced to almost a Cinema quality experience. Sound is OK - but once put through a system is comes into its own. Looks pretty slick with its stand Recommend it but shop around the prices are dropping weekly!

A great TV, but the screen does seem to have a grey 'filter' to it. It's not a problem and wouldn't have stopped me buying it but it is something to be aware of
Jack, King's Lynn on June 27th, 2006
After much research, I am not sorry I made the purchase. In one word: Gob-smacked!
Ted Holmes, Bradford on June 28th, 2006
Good all rounder Some slight evidence of "memory-effect" arising from use of the EPG. Disappears with time. Hard to adjust screen brightness for comfort, though this may be a trait of all plasmas.

You are definitely going to find it hard to beat this plasma on picture quality . Terrestrial is GREAT ! DVD is excellent , first thing that really struck me is the picture quality on normal TV , forget what you see in the shops , when you connect this up to your own antenna at home you are going to be so suprised . It has a built in upscaler too. It has CAM access , which i am using for Top up tv and it works fine . I havent tried with Hi def yet , but its got to be awesome based on normal picture performance. Has Auto brightness feature , that adjusts according to the level of light in your room. Course there are so many features, too many to mention. Buy it ! you will love it !

Superb picture esecially with Sky HD input! More expensive than other equivelents but in a league of its own in style and quality in my opinion!

After months of resarch I went for this TV. I have not been dissapointed the picture is superb. The main strength is the easy set up even the matching stand is a doddle to put together. No real weakneses at all.

Excellent Picture esp from DVDs via my samsung DVD-HD860 DVD Player. Does however highlight the diference in broadcast quality of different channels and programs. Well laid out Remote and all the connections you could need. Can't wait for my Sky HD box to arrive.

What can I say, got a 42 and the missus was so blown away by it we've now got a 37 too. Easy to use, even easier to enjoy. Using a £65 toshiba 360e DVD with HDMI out till I can get my hands on a true HD unit, but I'm struggling to see where the improvement will be. This TV is awesome for the cash. Anyone looking to by a flat panel who doesn't get one of these is either blind or stupid or both.

i purchased this set April Last year and was initially impressed with it however please be wary of a potential issue relating to Purple snakes being shown on the screen. It doesn't happena all the time but once you notice it, it will effect your viewing pleasure.
John E, Birmingham on January 14th, 2007
Sometimes the picture is draw dropping in its purity of display on all inputs. I have however like Nik in Bedford noticed the purple snake issue and will endeavour to talk to Panasonic about it. I agree when noticed it spoils your viewing pleasure as you are unsure wether its a general fault or one which can be eradicated by having the set calibrated. will keep you all posted as to the outcome.

Amazing with my tosh dvd, denon amp and tannoys def the best pic and best value
Alan, Edinburgh on January 24th, 2007
Would have been 'excellent' if not for the purple snakes/ants issue which crops up at some point on most programmes - particularly older films or misty scenes. Have registered my problem with Panasonic customer services, who've promised a software fix (for all those who contact them) within a few weeks. Also, got John Lewis to extend my exchange or refund period till the fix is tried. If it works out, then very impressed with the set; if not, will probably go for another make/model.
Ed Small, Huntingdon UK on February 22nd, 2007
Best buy ever! Brilliant display with superior picture quality and an equal amount of connections to match. I have mine hooked up to a Panasonic 5.1 system with DVD via HDMI cable. AWESOME! If you buy this display you will not be disappointed.

I bought the Panasonic TH42PX60BCAB with the Viera stand from Dixons for £950. It’s important to shop around as prices vary between £950 and £1500 for the same set. The quality is as good as you can get on plasma. The size of the screen blows up any issues so it’s difficult to compare it with my old 28inch TV. The set needs to be watched from a distance but you get great quality. The TV has recently been re-launched as a 600 which only has a better sound output and costs £500 more. For £200 I bought Yamaha 359 and surround speakers and the whole thing is really great. Highly recommended however, I'll tell you in 5 years how it went.
Paul, Colchester on March 28th, 2007
Just bought the TH37PX60BCAB from Currys - you have to go in store and get them to look around but I got it for £638!!! Apparently included the free stand valued at £499 so I got an outstanding Plasma for £139!!! Can you believe it? No nor can I.

We mainly watch sport, football and Moto GP and the like. Every tv we have seen haas the shadow effect with fast motion and as a result am reluctant to trade in my 22yrs old, 26inch cathode ray B and O.What is this tv like for fast action on sky etc. Views welcome as I can't seem to find a shop with it set up with a normal aerail/sky.
