Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have been cleared of fault after their baby fell from a high chair.

According to the People magazine, the 6-month-old had slipped out of his nanny's arms and fallen to the floor as the chair broke. A doctor had said Preston was fine on that day.

Six days later, however, concerned Spears and Federline decided to take him to hospital for another check. Again no serious problems were found. Lawyer Martin Singer explained the visit to hospital resulted in a routine check at the couple's house.

"While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation," he explained. "They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed his version of events.
