The Sci Fi channel has launched a six-figure marketing campaign designed to promote its forthcoming primetime series, Medium.

The month-long activity went live today (April 20) and revolves primarily around multi-channel TV advertising on Sky One, Hallmark Channel, Living TV and ITV2. In a first for the channel, the media plan also includes extensive online advertising. PR support and print advertising complete the mix.

Premiering Monday (April 24) at 9pm, Medium stars Patricia Arquette as a real-life psychic who combines a hectic home life with her work for the Criminal Justice Department in Phoenix, Arizona.

"Medium has been a critical and ratings hit in the States and we're really excited to see how it performs in a prime-time slot on this side of the Pond," said Eleanor McBrien, communications director at Sci Fi UK.

Medium has previously aired in the UK - outside of prime - on BBC One.
