Bought from Argos and had absolutely no troble with it whatsoever. Easy setup - good picture through RGB and good sound and VERY good remote which is quite logical and has ALL functions easily accessible. EPG is fast and very good and the recordings have all been fine and excellent quality - it hasn't missed a trick. It's no Topfield but with mass produced machines there's always some that slip through the quality control net and this happens with any brand but for a twin tuner PVR under £100 it's hard to beat.

Bought this earlier today and it seems to be really good. Quality is very good and the functions seem to be excellent too. Time shift recording is really good. You can also record and and watch the same program too. VFM is excellent!

Agree with all the above comments. excellent.

A great product, picture quailty and ease of use is excellent and for a twin tuner with hard drive for under £100 what more do you want. One slight negative the remote could be better laid out. No more expensive sky

Installed it last night, worked a dream, didn't need the instructions, intuition all the way. Recorded some programs last night and picture quiality and sound excellent. Simple to use and well worth the 99 quid from Argos. Got all the channels from the Mendip transmitter.

Great piece of kit for £99.99. Easy setup, user interface intuitive and simple, one button to record, and one to time shift. EPG facilitates easy program selection for recording, and it has an adjustable record buffer so that you don't miss the beginning or end of a program. Picture quality good with no freezing, styling is rather retro. A reliable TV friend, buy one today.

Exellent bit of kit. Set it up in five minutes. It even tells you that the channels are coming from thr mendip transmitter. Picture and sound top notch. I must try and find out if I can transfer recordings to a DVD.

Same as the guys below really. Very impressed with it for the price. Setup was easy and I've had no trouble at all. My one gripe is that you cannot reorder the channels to suit you. Fairly fundamental function I would have thought.........

Bought from Argos a couple of days ago and I am well chuffed with the product. It's very easy to use and have had no problems. I have seen other PVR's with virtually the same features that cost twice as much. Buy one today - I can't recommend it enough.

This is an unbelievable machine. For me it was a warranty replacement for the Digifusion PVRT version. The Digifusion box failed after two months - image was totally currupted. Bought the Digihome as replacement since they no longer stocked the Digifusion. I'm totally amazed how easy this machine is compared to the Digfusion. Where the Digifusion software is uses a separate UI the Digihome box has everything integrated into the system making far easier to use and manage. My 2 young kids use and record from it all the time. I can't fault anything on this system. You can't even hear the machine working as it's so quiet. The fan only kicks in when you want to use the HDD otherwise it's absolutely silent. The Digifusion was very noisy and the fan even spun when it was on stanby mode. It's simply the best piece of PVR kit in the market. Digifusion need to change their sw to this format for sure.

What can I say, fantastic and all for under 100.00. I hope this is getting some of the other manufactures worried! Picture and sound quality fantastic, easy to setup to record with grid style EPG, easy to sort out any conflicts. One button on the remote to see your library of recorded progs. Only down point I can see is repeat recordings, only gives Once, and Daily, I would like to see Weekdays to record the Simpsons ;) It looks promissing, I'm still playing with it after getting it yesterday. I do hope it stays this reliable and bugs dont start slipping in like the Humax PVR I had.

Got this from Argos as a replacement for a Digifusion (which was awful) and its a great piece of kit. Its very simple to use and is really good value (£100), i then went to a local market and they were selling them for £35 so i got another one for my parents, it makes me wonder if Argos are getting alot returned because the market man had loads of them (they were all ex Argos stock), if they are i dont know why as its genually a great item. The only downside is that although a Twin Tuner you cannot record two programs at the same time, or pause TV whilst recording as it seems only one of the two tuners allows recording.

I'm on my second 1......its such a shame about the freezing issues with these, i just wish it would blood work.....

I bought the 80GB model from Argos today and am thoroughly impressed (I used to work in development for a major European CE company and it takes a lot to impress me!). Setup was simple and so far I cannot find fault with the box. Although it is a twin tuner it does only allow you to record one program whilst watching another but I don't see any major problem with this. I'm not in the strongest signal area, however I'm seeing little signal break-up from either tuner. Yes, build quality is not the greatest and it lacks some of the features of more expensive models but for the price I don't think you can go wrong. For just under £100 I would thoroughly recommend this box. It's a great upgrade from my old (but trusty) Thomson DTI1000.

Bought PVR80 yesterday from Argos. Tried some recording and thought that there was something wrong with it because the recorded picture kept freezing and losing its sound. Found out that the problem is the aerial connections on the back, the recording tuner is totally separate to the viewing tuner and has its own pair of aerial connectors. This has to be linked to the viewing tuner with a short piece of coax (supplied). Connecting the recording tuner in front of the viewing tuner made the recorded programmes OK (but with some break up on the viewing tuner). I connected the pass-through output of the Digihome into another Freeview receiver and found that the incoming signal had been amplified (75% instead of 69%) but was reduced in quality (84% instead of 98% for a direct connection). The electronics inside the Digihome are probably putting a lot of noise onto the pass-through signal. So, if you get one of these and aren't in a brilliant signal area for Freeview, you might want to feed both tuners from a 2-output booster instead. I don't know why they couldn't split the signal inside the receiver, instead of having all those sockets. It's not as if people are going to feed each tuner from a separate aerial. Apart from that I've not noticed any other problems. I've got software version 3.9.

Great when it worked but only worked a day. Also not a real twin tuner.

great bit of kit. Very good picture and sound quality a doddle to use. Have thrown away my video now!

Wasn't sure about it at first as it looked like a funky 70's clock radio. plugged it in and pow! mint picture and better than Sky. Must be too good to be true I thought and it was. By day 2 it was freezing, not recording properly and blacking out altogether. I'm going to try another from Argos as the picture and features are so good and I'm sure it's not my reception (live transmission ok but recording terrible. Does anyone know if there is a signal strength indicator like with Sky? Will reserve final judgement.......

The PVR80 is a useless machine. You spend your money to waste weeks to figure out the problem, while the problem remains with a faulty box that has been chipped back to consumers rather than fixed. Get your money back.
Luke UK on December 29th, 2006
Bought this PVR and all I can say is its excellent, It is so easy to record things over the next 7 days, I love setting all the programmes up the night before. What is also good about this is, I also have a dvd recorder and can record any films/shows that have been recorded. All I have to do is play the programme that was recorded and then record it to dvd. Watching another channel while recording another made me buy this because while one is recording to one channel I can record the other channel to dvd. So realy I am recording 2 channels. Can't fault this product at all and well worth every penny. Have not had a fault yet and its made my viewing 100x more easy and better! Tops *****

Got a PVR80, works a treat but does anyone know if or when an OTA update will xmit? I know thee is later firmware for bug fixing but since I currently do not have any problems will wait for OTA if it is actually coming.

Bought this to replace my (fairly) trusty but aging Panasonic TCUT20. The PVR was fine *as a PVR*. EPG, timeshifting, recording off the EPG, all worked well (software V3.9) But: - There was 1/4" gap between the bottom of the picture and the bottom of the screen of my Panasonic 24" widescreen CRT TV. - Auto switching between 16:9 and 4:3 only worked sporadically, if at all. - The deal breaker. The hard disk emitted a high-pitched whine that could be heard throughout my living room. Argos happily replaced it with another box (software V4.9 this time) Although the disk whined slightly less than in the previous box the screen presentation issues remained, so back it went for a refund. Again, no hassles from Argos. I noticed the HD is made by Samsung. Is this a known problem with these drives? I've built PCs using Western Digital, Quantum, Connor and Seagate drives and never had one that made that kind of noise. It's a shame, because the box did some things better than the TCUT20. I appreciated the full 7 day EPG and meaningful front panel display. The sound quality was vastly improved as compared with the Panasonic; in fact, I was all set to retire my FM tuner. And last: any recommendations for a PVR with a silent disc? I don't mind a low hum and moderate head-seeking noises; it's the needle in the ear I can't stand ;)

Very good all round even using an indoor ariel. Only thing I have noticed is that the signal strength indicator seems to have very little to do with the actual signal strength, (unless someone at Emly moor is sat continuously twiddling the knobs). Also Radio scanner (Pro 2006) can cause breakup of picture.

Parents bought one yesterday, set it up fine and watched for a few hours then turned everything off. Goes to switch it back on today and I'm getting nothing, no lcd screen, no HDD boot up, absolutely nothing at all. Totally Dead. Will be going back to Argos for a replacement/upgrade depending on what the folks want to do. Not Happy with it at all, £99 = Silver Brick.

can anyone tell me if the digihome pvr80 is compatable with sky digital ie no sky plus required?
Laura N.Ireland on January 28th, 2007
My boyfriend bought this for my birthday. Very easy to setup and excellent to use. I’ve had it now for 2 months and I’m starting to have some trouble with it. When I record the channels start and stop and I lose sound unless it’s the channel I’m recording which is pointless. If I pause live TV it fast-forward’s through it now when I press play so I miss what I tried to pause and then watch. Going to try and download some new hardware for it. If that doesn't work, it’s going back I’m afraid to say. It is a great product and now I couldn't be without it, just make sure you keep your receipt in case you have any problems!!
Phil, Southport on January 29th, 2007
I regret the day I bought this. First one never worked, returned same day. Replacement worked three days, and then had to be returned. Final one is good when it works properly but some blank, thick horizontal lines sometimes appear on the screen. They can be removed by pressing any button but are irritating - and if they appear while copying from disk to video then you get them on your video! This machine is definitely one to avoid!

I love this machine, threw out my old video recorder and put this in its place. No tapes, no fuss. I urge everyone to buy this machine. Great
John Bullock, Swadlincote on August 4th, 2007
Not pretty to look at, easy to install & use but find picture quality very disappointing i.e. colour bleeds, picture loses clarity.
griff on August 30th, 2007
Mine has been working fine for the last 6 months - really nice piece of kit. But in the last couple of days, the EPG keeps going completely blank - but restores itself if the machine is switched on and off at the socket. Don't know what rating to put on the machine - has anyone else experienced this?

Just got one of these as a refurb unit from Dabs for £50 - its the spare room so no great shakes, but it has been rock solid, prefer it to the digifusion range, but it is certainly no topfield
Rigpigz, Cumbria on April 20th, 2008
got one from dabs.com almost two years ago. ran straight out of the box. no trouble since.
