The temperature rose on Love Island as the celebrities argued over the judging of a sit-up task.

All the contestants were made to take part in a contest in which they had to do joint sit-ups in pairs and kiss on the lips when they met in the middle. Although each individual had to hold onto their partner's ankles they were forbidden to pull on them in order to complete the sit-ups.

The fallout occurred while Brendan took a turn acting as judge and stopped Callum and Kate, claiming the Big Brother winner had been pulling on her partner's legs.

“It’s a sit-up. We’re doing sit-ups. That is so out of order. It’s a sit-up. How on earth can you say that’s not a sit-up. I’ll gladly do them without holding on," Kate said angrily.

The dancer relented and told the couple to continue, but the damage was done. Kate told him: “No, forget it man. You’re bang out of order man.”

As Kelle and Chris took their turn the trouble went on, as the former Eternal singer refused to kiss on the lips.

“The problem I’m having is that everyone must play by the rules," Brendan informed her. "If we can’t air kiss we’ll get up and sit down now," told him.

Finally Brendan and Sophie took their turn while Calum judged, but were soon subject to criticism from Kate.

“Watch, she’s pulling herself up," Kate shouted. “No I’m not, actually," the model yelled.

“You are babe. That’s why we got stopped," the DJ said. “I like the fact that my muscles are killing me in my stomach," he remarked.

Kate responded: “Same here babe. That’s exactly the same.” Sophie snapped back: “Whatever Kate. I’m not having an argument for f**k’s sake. It’s up to Calum, surely.”
