Ashlee Simpson has been offered the lead part in Chicago, according to reports.

The singer will take the role of Roxie Hart, who is jailed for killing her lover, in either the Broadway or West End production of the show.

Given the choice between the two cities, a source tells US Weekly magazine that "she will probably choose London."
