Samuel L. Jackson thriller Snakes on a Plane debuted at the top of the Australian box office last weekend.

The film, which had enjoyed a wide web following prior to its release, took AUS$1.02m in its first three days. Former number one Miami Vice followed in second place, with Jet Li's Fearless appearing in third.
